‘Rock
the Groundz’ returns for fourth year
July 13-14th in Morris with Hairball
Rock the Groundz – West Central Minnesota’s
only outdoor music and camping festival – is returning for
an action-packed, fourth year on Friday July 13th and Saturday,
July 14th, 2012 with four great bands,
two nights of camping and
a large fireworks display. Did we
mention HAIRBALL is headlining? 2012 brings together some great bands - Sweet
Siren, 69 Cents, Menace and HAIRBALL! Early-bird tickets and camping passes are
on sale on the event
website [www.rockthegroundz.com] featuring a two-day camping and
concert pass for only $40 per person, and a Saturday-only concert
ticket for $15 per person. This is a limited time offer.
A special Friday night concert by Sweet
Siren is
open to all registered campers in the campground from 9:00 – 1:00
a.m. Campers can bring their own
chairs, food and beverages to this unique concert venue located
in the heart of the campground. A full-blown music and camping event is
not only for the locals to take advantage of, but a legitimate
destination for regional and statewide travelers. “During
the past three years, we have seen a lot of people coming into
Morris specifically for this event,” says
Doug Storck, a member of the event’s planning committee. “That
is what the event is meant to do. To bring people into Morris who
otherwise wouldn’t spend the weekend here.” The Morris Eagles is sponsoring the annual
fireworks display on
Saturday at dusk. The launch location of the fireworks is inside
the racing track at the Fairgrounds. Concertgoers will have the
ultimate view of this annual event from the Eagles to the Morris
community. The fireworks are launched courtesy of the Morris Fire
Department. Vendors will be
on site to sell a variety of food and beverages. The Morris Eagles
will provide full beverage service at the event, providing Miller
and Budweiser products, Pepsi and Coca-Cola products, and water. Rock the Groundz is presented by the Morris
Eagles in conjunction with many local and regional sponsors.
A full list of sponsors is available on the festival website
and on signage throughout the festival grounds. “It’s
great to have community support for an event of this magnitude,” says
Randy Bannick, of the Morris Eagles. “Many people have
said we need something in Morris like this, and people have stepped
up and helped make it happen through sponsorships and volunteering.
The Morris Eagles is excited to be a part of this and we look
forward to this growing event.”
